| Dr. Roushan Islam completed his graduation in Botany (Hons) from K.N.College in 2006.He then finished his master's in the same subject with Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding as special paper in 2008 from Kalyani University. He stood first class first in both B.Sc and M.Sc in the university examinations and received gold medal from honourable governor of West Bengal M.K. Narayanan in the 23rd annual convocation of Kalyani University. Dr. Islam completed his Ph.D from Kalyani University in 2018. His research interest was Mycology and Plant Pathology. He worked on several non-pathogenic aspects of Fusarium (PGPF). Presently, his focus is on the underlying mechanisms of plant growth promotion by beneficial Fusarium spp. He has 15 publications under his belt in reputed national and international journals.
Dr. Islam served two government colleges of high repute in West Bengal. He joined at A.P.C. Roy Government College, Siliguri in 2015. He was then asked to join S.B.S. Government College, Hili on transfer in 2016. Dr. Islam joined at Sripat Singh College ,Jiaganj in the fag end of the year 2016. Presently he is acting as the head of the department of Botany, Sripat Singh College.
